Job Summary

We're seeking an experienced Medical Customer Service Representative to join our remote team. As a key member of our customer service team, you'll be responsible for providing exceptional service to our patients and partners, resolving medical-related inquiries, and collaborating with carriers to ensure coverage of medication. If you have a strong background in call center experience, medical terminology, and insurance processes, we'd love to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities

* Answer inbound calls, occasionally make outbound calls to assist with medically related inquiries

  • Use computer skills for data entry, gathering and reviewing patient billing and medical information
  • Collaborate with carriers to ensure coverage of medication on behalf of the patient
  • Provide positive customer service and empathy to patients and partners
  • Utilize medical terminology and insurance processes to resolve complex issues
  • Work collaboratively with the customer service team to achieve shared goals and objectives

Essential Qualifications

* 1 year or more of recent call center experience (no exceptions)

  • Strong background in medical terminology and insurance processes
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively
  • High-speed internet with modem access
  • Basic computer skills, including data entry and software applications

Preferred Qualifications

* Experience working in a healthcare or insurance environment

  • Knowledge of medical billing and coding
  • Certification in medical terminology or a related field
  • Experience working with electronic health records (EHRs)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
