Key Responsibilities

As a Licensed P&C Customer Service Representative, your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Answering customer calls and assisting with payment and billing questions, as well as online payments
  • Handling policy change requests via phone or email from customers and third parties, implementing changes online at the insurance carrier website
  • Reviewing policy coverages and issuing certificates of insurance, evidence of insurance, or binders as needed
  • Engaging in general phone and email correspondence with customers related to renewals, cancellations, and insurance carrier requests

Essential Qualifications and Skills

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • A minimum of 3 years' experience in property and casualty insurance, with a Property and Casualty License required
  • Experience in either personal or commercial lines, with experience in both a plus
  • Proficiency in Massachusetts Auto and Registry a plus
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel and Outlook
  • Strong data entry skills and website navigation
  • Adaptability to varying customer personality types and situations
  • Eager to work in a collaborative, fast-paced, team environment
  • Patience, empathy, and professionalism
  • Effective time management
  • A private, distraction-free work area is necessary, although a separate office is NOT required

Preferred Qualifications and Skills

While not essential, the following qualifications and skills are highly desirable:

  • Experience working in a virtual or remote environment
  • Familiarity with insurance carrier websites and management systems
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with multiple priorities
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
