About the position Our client, a respected regional law firm, is seeking an experienced Human Resources Manager to support firm-wide HR operations from its Bergen County office. This hybrid role reports directly to the Chief Human Resources Officer and plays a key role in managing employee relations, recruitment, performance management, and compliance across multiple offices. This is an ideal opportunity for an HR professional with law firm or professional services experience who thrives in a partnership-driven, fast-paced environment and values stability, discretion, and strategic impact. Responsibilities • Partner with the CHRO to oversee firm-wide HR functions and policies • Manage recruiting, hiring, onboarding, and retention initiatives • Lead employee relations, performance evaluations, and disciplinary processes • Ensure compliance with employment laws and HR best practices • Coordinate benefits administration, including 401(k) and profit-sharing plans • Oversee non-exempt staff and ensure firm performance standards are met • Maintain and update job descriptions and organizational staffing plans • Support leave administration and employee conflict resolution • Provide reporting and HR insights to firm leadership Requirements • Bachelor’s degree in HR or related field • 4+ years of progressive HR experience within a law firm or similar professional services environment • Strong employee relations and compliance experience • Excellent written and verbal communication skills • High level of professionalism and discretion • Stable career history required Nice-to-haves • SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, SPHR, or PHR certification a plus
