Lead QA Engineer

Remote role Full-time Open position

Since 2018, Wisp has been on a mission to put healthcare back in patients’ hands. We connect patients with hassle-free sexual + reproductive care online, with discreet and convenient treatment that saves them time, money, and stress. Our goal is to empower everyone to make the decisions about their health that are right for them. We’ve scaled quickly, serving patients across the nation and becoming part of the WELL Health family—and now we want you.

We are a growing, fully-remote team in the United States looking for collaborators who are committed to our mission, passionate about results, eager to build something amazing, and excited to have high levels of ownership, accountability, and personal growth.

Who We're Looking For

We’re looking for a Senior QA Engineer to join our Engineering team and ensure the quality, reliability, and performance of our products. You’ll partner closely with Full-Stack Engineers, Product Managers, and cross-functional teams to embed quality throughout the development lifecycle.

In this role, you’ll bring strong testing expertise and take a proactive approach to improving how we test, ship, and maintain systems. Rather than acting as a gatekeeper, you’ll enable teams by building tools, frameworks, and processes that support high-quality, efficient development.

You’ll play a key role in shaping our testing strategy, modernizing infrastructure, and fostering a culture of quality—including championing accessibility so our products are usable by all patients. This role is ideal for someone with a product mindset who enjoys solving complex challenges and building systems that directly impact patients’ lives.

What You'll Do

  • Own end-to-end quality across systems, including testing infrastructure, CI/CD, and engineering practices

  • Modernize Python-based test suites and build end-to-end browser automation with Playwright

  • Maintain mobile test automation using Detox for React Native apps (iOS & Android)

  • Manage the testing phase of the CI/CD pipeline to ensure fast, reliable feedback

  • Partner with engineers to improve testability and maintainability during development

  • Advocate for shift-left testing and lead blameless postmortems for continuous improvement

  • Collaborate cross-functionally from planning through release

  • Champion WCAG 2.1/2.2 accessibility and integrate automated checks into the pipeline

This Role Could Be A Good Fit For You If…

  • You have 5+ years of experience in software or test engineering, with a strong focus on automated testing and quality practices.

  • You're highly proficient in Python, comfortable working across modern testing frameworks, and have hands-on experience with Playwright for web and/or Detox for mobile test automation.

  • You understand testing at every level — unit, integration, and end-to-end — and have experience building and maintaining test infrastructure within CI/CD pipelines.

  • You have working knowledge of WCAG 2.1/2.2 accessibility guidelines and experience integrating accessibility testing tools like axe-core into automated pipelines.

  • Beyond the technical skills, you're someone who communicates clearly, collaborates across teams, and is comfortable influencing without authority.

  • You have a product mindset, care about the people using what you build, and are motivated by the idea that your work directly improves patients' lives.

Visa sponsorship or transfer is not available for this position at present. Must be authorized to work in the country this requisition states.

Wisp is an equal-opportunity employer. We are proud to foster a workplace free from discrimination. We strongly believe that diversity of experience, perspectives, and background will lead to a better environment for our employees and a better product for our users and patients.

If you are committed to collaborative problem solving, creating high-quality and user-centric products, and want to make waves in sexual and reproductive healthcare, join us!
