Surveyor

Remote role Full-time Open position

Dawson Civil is seeking a Surveyor to join our team. In this role, you will perform field surveys, interpret plans, and create/manage survey files that support our civil construction projects throughout British Columbia.

As a valued member of Dawson Civil, you will work in a Seasonal, full-time Surveyor position reporting to the Survey Manager. Your home base will be either Kamloops, BC or Quesnel, BC, with regular travel throughout the province.

WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE

  • Always prioritizing the safety of yourself and others
  • Conducting field surveys, including construction staking, topographic, design, and volumetric surveys
  • Accurately recording measurements and data, preparing field notes, and performing quality control on survey work
  • Interpreting plans and completing required calculations
  • Creating, organizing, and managing survey files
  • Verifying existing survey control and establishing new control as needed
  • Researching land records, survey records, and land titles

WHAT YOU BRING

  • Surveying experience, ideally within the civil construction industry
  • Proficiency with GPS and total station equipment
  • Knowledge of general surveying techniques and equipment (e.g., laser, level)
  • Ability to interpret and use information from maps, drawings, and field measurements
  • A valid driver’s license
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively
  • A strong commitment to safety
