Newbuilding Surveyor

Unit Description:

DNV - Area North China is part of the Maritime Region Greater China and consists of around 150 employees in 5 major locations. Services delivered are related to ship classification of vessels and offshore units as well as certification of material and components.

Station Nanjing NB & CMC is looking for experienced Newbuilding Surveyors, who’re going to work for projects at Yangzhou City, Zhenjiang City, Taizhou City and Wuhan City.

Job Responsibilities

  • Perform new building surveys on ships according to rules and regulations.
  • Ensure smooth execution of projects in collaboration with the PM and peers on-site.
  • Proactive and smooth communication with the shipyard and owner’s representatives.
  • Certification and verification of materials and components underclass and non-class related systems and processes.
  • Manage a group of customers and interact with colleagues from all over the world to follow up on their needs.
  • Be the advisor of our customers to guide them in the regulatory landscape of the maritime industry and support their development.
  • Conduct all activities in a safe manner with due regard to your own safety and the safety of others.

Qualifications

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or experience as crew onboard.
  • Young professionals with 3 to 5 years of experience in the maritime industry, preferably in design office, shipyard or technical superintendent. Experiences as Class Surveyor or owner site representative will be considered as an advantage.
  • Excellent communication skills, verbal and in writing in English.
  • Empathy and problem-solving mindset towards our clients.
  • Team player with independent, self-organized abilities and positive mindset.
  • Flexibility to travel within the area.
