[Remote] Underwriting Assistant, Commercial Lines

They are seeking an Underwriting Assistant to join their National Underwriting Team, responsible for issuing, endorsing, renewing, or canceling policies while ensuring compliance with underwriting policies and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Issue, endorse, renew, or cancels policies following underwriting policies/procedures, applicable laws, and regulations subject to personal authority level
• Retrieve information relevant to the underwriting function either by pulling files or checking policy history through appropriate channels
• Work within established authority limits, structured parameters, rating matrices, and defined guidelines within the Underwriting Authority given under the various Lloyd’s Contracts
• Answer straightforward inquiries from brokers promptly and courteously
• Other tasks related to supporting our underwriting functions

Skills

• Post Secondary Education
• Excellent data entry and typing skills with the ability to quickly learn new systems and processes
• Demonstrate strong attention to detail with the capability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
• Thrive working in a virtual Team using shared electronic mailboxes and files
• Highly organized to manage workload proficiently and can work in a face paced and changing environment
• Analytical and decision-making skills with attention to detail
• Positive team player while working independently
• High degree of professionalism and accountability
• Willing to obtain insurance license
• Excellent Knowledge of MS Office - Outlook, Word, Excel
• Ability to quickly learn new systems and processes
