Application Engineer I - Tech Support

The Application Engineer provides technical support and training for product applications while collaborating with sales teams and customers to resolve complex issues and improve processes.
Responsibilities
- Aid product support team on technical support via phone and e-mail for both internal and external salespeople in the areas of product selection and application
- Develop and communicate solutions for basic product applications under direct supervision
- Gather information and provide resolution to complex field problems
- May include travel for onsite support
- Understand and interpret industry codes and standards to determine product needs and requirements
- Assist with highlighting and communicating key selling points of our current products for delivery to our sales teams and customers
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and work to implement where applicable
- Become familiar with the competitor's products and apply this knowledge to the company's advantage
- Organize and present trainings to internal and external customers both onsite and offsite
- May assist with offsite events including planning, set-up, and basic customer interactions
- Develop awareness of industry related associations and their purpose
- May provide mentoring, training, indirect supervision of other team members, or may have direct reports
- Basic understanding of rep network and sales channel
- Manage basic individual projects in accordance with predetermined completion dates
- Document service calls to record data on product questions and field issues
Skills
- 4 Year / bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent years of work experience required
- 0-2 years of relevant work experience in engineering required
