Enterprise Technical Writer Remote / Telecommute Jobs

Position Summary Zachary Piper is seeking an Enterprise Technical Writer to support a large-scale technology program. This role focuses on translating complex technical systems into clear, concise, and user-friendly documentation. The position requires hands-on experience with modern enterprise platforms and the ability to produce diagrams, process documentation, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and technical whitepapers. Responsibilities include maintaining accessibility standards, documenting meetings, capturing action items, and supporting project and business development activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain high-quality technical documentation-including system overviews, architectural diagrams, data flows, workflows, algorithms, release notes, configuration guides, and whitepapers-in collaboration with technical teams.
• Consolidate technical information from multiple sources into coherent, well-structured documents.
• Translate complex technical concepts into accessible content for both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Review technical specifications and workflows to ensure documentation accuracy and currency.
• Create system diagrams, workflow charts, and other visual assets using diagramming tools.
• Participate in system design meetings, sprint activities, and stakeholder sessions to capture documentation requirements.
• Support change management by quickly learning new features, integrations, and system enhancements, updating documentation accordingly.
• Ensure documentation meets accessibility requirements, including proper tagging, alternative text, and formatting.
• Document business and technical processes; develop and improve SOPs tied to system operations, deployments, and data management.
• Capture and distribute meeting minutes, including decision points and action items.
• Manage multiple simultaneous documentation efforts and effectively prioritize tasks.
• Maintain knowledge of internal style guides, templates, and industry writing standards.

Qualifications

Education

• Bachelor's degree.

Required Experience

• Minimum 5 years of experience producing high-quality technical documentation using active voice for enterprise-level platforms such as CRM, cloud services, and related technologies.
• Proven ability to create architecture diagrams and explain complex systems in clear written formats including SOPs, process docs, and technical papers.
• Familiarity with accessibility and compliance requirements for documentation.

Required Technical Skills

• Knowledge of CRM and cloud platforms.
• Advanced proficiency with office productivity tools, including document and diagramming software.
• Experience managing document versions in collaboration platforms.

Security Requirements

• Must be able to obtain a Public Trust clearance.

Preferred Skills

• Experience writing for platforms such as release management tools, data warehousing technologies, analytics tools, and AI/ML systems.
• Background in health-related or government-regulated environments.

Compensation

• Benefits: PTO, Paid Holidays, Medical, Dental, Vision, 401(k), Sick Leave (as required by law)
• Salary: $90,000 - $105,000
