About the position The US Oncology Network is looking for a Remote Senior Laboratory Information Systems (LIS) Engineer to support all Texas Oncology locations. Some travel is required. What does the Laboratory Information Systems (LIS) Engineer do? Under minimal supervision, provides expertise and skills needed to effectively assists with the support Of LIS applications and LIS infrastructure. Provides technical support in installation and maintenance of LIS hardware and software applications. Supports and adheres to the US Oncology Compliance Program, to include the Code of Ethics and Business Standards.

Responsibilities

  • Implements, maintains, troubleshoots and resolves problems relating to the flow of laboratory data.
  • Tests and analyzes specific lab software upgrades and changes.
  • Assist with the management, implementation and training of lab staff on the use of LIS applications.
  • Achieves a high level of customer service and communication with our customers.
  • Participates in the setup and implementation of lab initiatives requiring LIS support
  • Maintains a high level of understanding of the use of lab data in relation to physician practices, patient care, continuum of care ,electronic medical records and clinical research.
  • Knowledge of Laboratory instrumentation Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree preferred in Laboratory Sciences
  • Minimum of five (5) years' work experience in a laboratory.
  • Must have a working knowledge of Orchard products.
  • Must have a working knowledge of PC Operations
