Principal Engineer, Production Systems [Remote]

In This Role You'll: We at Paramount Skydance are looking for a Principal Engineer, Production Systems! Within this team, you will join a group that designs, installs, and debugs various Broadcast Production systems. These include Audio, Video, Control, and IT related to broadcast equipment. As the Principal Engineer, you will be a critical resource, crafting and supporting everything needed to put together a show at our historic broadcast center!

Responsibilities

Include:

  • Design and support in-house video, audio and control systems.
  • Support maintenance department for problem-solving and repair of above-mentioned systems.
  • Maintain network and system documentation.
  • Conform to CBS security policies, initiatives, and compliance reporting.
  • Supervision of project as relates to wiring technicians is required. Basic Qualifications You Bring:
  • In depth knowledge of broadcast systems: compressed and uncompressed audio formats and video formats, with understanding of SMPTE 2110 IP design and implementation; production control systems commonly used in complex production control rooms for live and non-live applications.
  • Basic understanding of networking, subnetting, and VLAN implementation.
  • Strong knowledge of AutoCAD and Vizio.
  • Deep technical knowledge of current broadcast systems software, protocols, and standards.
  • Proven understanding of network administration.
  • Hands-on software and hardware troubleshooting experience.
  • Experience documenting and maintaining configuration and process information. Bonus Skills:
  • College diploma or University degree in the field of Electrical or Broadcast engineering or a minimum of 7 years of equivalent work experience.
  • Excellent listening, interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to optimally prioritize and complete tasks in a fast paced environment.
  • Skilled at working within a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
  • Ability to conduct research into hardware and software issues and products as required.
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel and Word. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION Hiring Salary Range: $170,000.00 - 195,000.00. The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York City, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, tuition assistance program and PTO or, if applicable, as otherwise dictated by the appropriate Collective Bargaining Agreement.
