Job Responsibilities:

As an Experienced Customer Service Representative - General Call Center, you'll be responsible for:

  • Providing exceptional service to internal and external customers, responding to their inquiries, and resolving their issues in a professional and timely manner.
  • Maintaining a positive, empathetic, and professional attitude toward customers at all times, even in challenging situations.
  • Receiving requests from multiple sources (phone, fax, e-Commerce, in-person) and completing necessary processes for equipment services.
  • Coordinating home equipment service requests with Dispatch for prompt delivery.
  • Engaging in active listening with customers, confirming or clarifying information, and diffusing angry customers as needed.
  • Providing customers with product and service information, including details about Medicare, Medicaid, and third-party payor sources.
  • Verifying medical necessity, insurance coverage, and physician orders for all insurance-assigned services.
  • Following policy and work instructions to ensure the Billing Department has the correct paperwork to complete insurance.
  • Understanding and striving to meet or exceed department metrics while providing excellent customer service.
  • Making sales or recommendations for products or services that may complement client needs, as applicable.
  • Performing other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications:

To succeed in this role, you'll need:

  • A high school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • 6 months of relevant customer service experience, preferably in a medical equipment or healthcare setting.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
  • Customer service orientation, with a focus on delivering exceptional experiences.
  • Attention to detail, with strong data entry skills.
  • Proficiency with computers, with strong typing skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with a focus on meeting deadlines and exceeding customer expectations.

Physical Demands:

As a Customer Service Representative, you'll spend most of your time sitting, talking, and hearing, with frequent typing and occasional standing and walking. You'll need to occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 lbs., 50 lbs. for retail. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.
