The Role
As an Experienced Data Analyst on our Transportation Analytics crew, you will be responsible for analyzing and interpreting complex data sets to inform business decisions, drive operational efficiency, and enhance customer experiences. Your expertise in SQL, Tableau, and Business Fluency will enable you to:
- Work with large, messy, disparate datasets: Develop ad-hoc analyses to inform essential business decisions, creating ETLs or strategies that pull data from multiple sources and centralize it in a single table.
- Create impactful data visualizations: Develop Tableau dashboards to display and quantify the effects of modifications and specific business challenges, engaging stakeholders and cross-functional teams.
- Engage with stakeholders and cross-functional teams: Analyze stakeholder needs and collaborate with Operations, Finance, and Product groups to ensure data accuracy, completeness, and latency across multiple operations and systems.
- Leverage scripting languages: Automate reporting tasks using Python (preferred) or other scripting languages, such as Knime, Alteryx, R, Tableau Prep, etc.
- Document and share expertise: Document your approaches and share your knowledge with colleagues, mentoring them as you become a Subject Matter Expert.
Essential Qualifications
* Bachelor's Degree: In a relevant field, such as Business Administration, Computer Science, or Mathematics.
- Excellent SQL Skills: 2-4 years of experience in developing and maintaining complex SQL queries, ensuring data integrity and accuracy.
- Business Operations Fluency: 1-2 years of experience in recognizing and resolving business problems, with a Supply Chain background and transportation experience.
- Excellent Communication Skills: Ability to work cross-functionally, engaging stakeholders and colleagues to share insights and drive business outcomes.
Preferred Qualifications
* Advanced experience with SQL and Tableau: 2-4 years of experience in developing and maintaining complex SQL queries and creating impactful Tableau dashboards.
- Experience with e-commerce operations or parcel service operations: 1-2 years of experience in analyzing and interpreting data related to e-commerce or parcel service operations.
- Experience with Python or other scripting languages: 1-2 years of experience in leveraging scripting languages to automate reporting tasks.
- Experience with data manipulation tools: Familiarity with tools such as Knime, Alteryx, R, Tableau Prep, etc.
