About the Role

As a Mail Distribution Associate, you will play a critical role in sorting and distributing various types of mail, including letters, packages, and parcels. You will be responsible for processing and tracking certified and registered mail, validating the accuracy of postmarks on return receipts, and maintaining vigilance and attentiveness towards any incoming correspondence that comprises classified details.

Key Responsibilities

  • Sort and distribute mail, packages, and parcels efficiently and accurately
  • Process and track certified and registered mail, ensuring compliance with USPS quality standards
  • Validate the accuracy of postmarks on return receipts to that of certified mail receipt
  • Maintain vigilance and attentiveness towards any incoming correspondence that comprises classified details, taking adequate measures to handle and manage such items securely until they reach their intended destination
  • Transport parcels within a building that houses multiple organizations with common areas on different floors
  • Carry out a range of general office responsibilities, such as answering phones and offering basic customer assistance
  • Provide expert counseling services for individuals or business owners who require assistance with their mailing needs, including forwarding their mail to a different address, placing a hold on delivery, or updating their address
  • Sell stamps and other postal products Essential Qualifications To be eligible for this role, you must:
  • Be at least 18 years old
  • Be a US citizen or lawful permanent resident
  • Be capable of passing a background check and drug screening
  • Possess strong time management, organization, and multitasking skills
  • Be able to work in a fast-paced environment and meet USPS quality standards Preferred Qualifications While not essential, the following qualifications are highly desirable:
  • Previous experience in a mail processing or related environment
  • Knowledge of USPS policies and procedures
  • Excellent customer service skills

Compensation, Perks, and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary range of $23.47 to $38.62 per hour, depending on the job and experience.
