Job Summary Flora Legal Group is an Indianapolis-based immigration firm committed to serving the immigrant community. We are seeking an Associate Attorney (EOIR: ICE) with a heart and passion to help immigrants and a desire to thrive in a large, team-oriented immigration practice. The successful candidate will play a key role in supervising the firm's ICE and detained EOIR dockets and provide effective and compassionate legal advocacy for clients in detention. This position involves evaluating ICE investigation records, primary responsibility for developing case strategies, monitoring and reviewing detained team KPIs, and representing clients in bond and individual hearings. Due to the nature of this role, fluency in both Spanish and English is required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervises the firm's ICE and detained EOIR dockets;
  • Reviews ICE investigation information to identify potential relief options and assumes primary responsibility for developing strategy;
  • Monitors detained team KPIs, assisting with improvement training, etc. for the detained docket;
  • Represents clients in bond hearings, detained master calendar hearings, and detained individual hearings;
  • Prepares for and attends hearing preparation appointments with clients;
  • Communicates with clients regarding case processing and case updates;
  • Provides updates and support to designated contacts (e.g., clients' family members);
  • Reviews and signs packets for the ICE/detained EOIR docket;
  • Attends various team and firm meetings when requested;
  • Handles and follows cases from inception to completion within the stipulated timeframe;
  • Enters information in case management software to include notes, client correspondence, hours utilized, and matter updates;
  • Completes all tasks in case management software by due date;
  • Time tracks hours worked in accordance with the firm’s time tracking policy.

Qualifications

  • Must be a licensed attorney in good standing to apply; Juris Doctorate required.
  • 5+ years immigration experience preferred; strong background in removal proceedings required. *Salary range is based on years of experience.
  • Fluency in Spanish (reading, writing, speaking) required.
  • Demonstrated success training and managing others.
  • Passion for immigration law.
  • Have excellent communication skills and enjoy helping people.
  • Be self-motivated, intellectually curious, and possess a strong work ethic.

Job Type: Full-time Pay: $100,000.00 - $140,000.00 per year Benefits:
