Early Career Scientist, Geologist or Environmental Engineer

They are seeking a self-motivated Junior Geologist, Scientist, or Engineer to support a wide range of environmental projects, working closely with a multidisciplinary team to protect natural resources and promote sustainable communities.
Responsibilities
- Support environmental assessments and investigations involving surface and subsurface soil, groundwater, surface water, and soil vapor
- Perform data entry, quality review, and assist with report preparation to document field investigation results
- Assist in the preparation of work plans and other project-related documentation
- Provide field oversight and support on environmental and construction-related projects
- Support general office and administrative tasks for project teams
- Assist with a diverse range of projects, which may include environmental compliance, construction support, natural resource management, and hazardous site investigation and remediation
Skills
- Bachelor of Science degree in Geology, Environmental Science, Hydrology, Geosciences, Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related field
- 1 or more years of relevant experience in environmental consulting, including exposure to: Field sampling procedures, Monitoring well installation, Subcontractor oversight, Analytical data interpretation, Technical reporting
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to work effectively on multidisciplinary teams
- Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office and Adobe applications
- Ability to travel frequently, typically on 2-3 day long trips. Most travel will be local to New York state, but will require overnight stays. Travel is variable throughout the year
- Experience with GIS and/or CAD
- Current 40-hour HAZWOPER certification
- First Aid / CPR certification
