About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Customer Service Representative to join our team in a fully remote position, offering the flexibility to work from home and enjoy a great work-life balance. As a key member of our Review Team, you will provide exceptional customer service support, interacting with beneficiaries and providers via our helpline, creating and proofreading letters, and maintaining timely responses. This role requires strong decision-making skills, particularly in handling complex appeals, and a passion for delivering outstanding customer experiences.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide exceptional customer service support to beneficiaries and providers via the helpline, responding to inquiries, and resolving issues in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Create, format, and proofread letters, ensuring accuracy, clarity, and timeliness in all correspondence.
  • Maintain effective working relationships between internal and external customers, fostering a collaborative and supportive environment.
  • Assist in identifying areas for potential improvement, participating in case reviews and process evaluations to drive continuous quality enhancement.
  • Answer the Beneficiary Helpline, utilizing the hunt group and available light functions to determine the best course of action for each caller, and referring them to external agencies as needed.
  • Validate notices and medical records, ensuring accuracy and completeness in all documentation.
  • Provide intake for all appeals received, ensuring efficient and effective processing.
  • Utilize internal quality control tools to assess individual work and team processes, driving continuous improvement and excellence.

Essential Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent, with post-high school business courses being helpful.
  • Medical terminology knowledge is desirable, although not essential.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills, with a courteous and patient demeanor, and the ability to maintain composure under potentially stressful situations.
  • Good grammar, punctuation, spelling, hyphenation, and written communication skills.
  • A customer-focused approach, with a results-oriented mindset and the ability to build and maintain relationships with internal and external customers.
  • General knowledge of a PC-based computer system, with the ability to learn additional software packages as needed.
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to multi-task, prioritize assignments, and work independently.

Preferred Qualifications

While not essential, the following qualifications are highly desirable:

  • Two to three years of clerical experience, including word processing, various filing systems, and telephone customer service responsibilities.
  • Prior work in a healthcare setting or medical terminology is recommended, with previous data entry or other clerical experience being a plus.
