The Head of Knowledge Management serves as a strategic partner, supporting the Firm's attorneys by maintaining and strategically deploying the Firm’s information resources. Engaging with individuals throughout the Firm, the Head of Knowledge Management will harness the unique ambitions of each Partner, each practice group, and the Firm as a whole, and will translate that into actionable solutions for the success of the Firm. The Head of Knowledge Management will oversee a team of talented Information Services Specialists and leverage their talent to enhance the Firm's services, contributing to the culture of excellence that enables everyone at JMBM to do their best work. Essential Duties

  • Manage the Firm’s overall information services/knowledge management strategy.
  • Lead a knowledge-sharing culture that leverages knowledge to empower attorneys and staff to utilize resources independently and for the purpose of driving continuous learning, innovation, and client service.
  • Engage with department heads and their respective practice groups to understand the information resources required to provide practice groups with the tools necessary to perform at the highest level.
  • Harness your technical skills and resources to identify opportunities and lead initiatives to leverage AI/GenAI within the Firm’s practice groups in collaboration with the IT department.
  • Utilize your project management and organizational skills to develop, design, and maintain an intranet that acts as a vital resource for attorneys and staff.
  • Lead knowledge and innovation projects with the focus of providing everyone in the Firm with tools that enhance efficiency, increase accuracy, and promote ingenuity.
  • Employ your advanced research skills to respond to research requests, and train Information Services Specialists to respond quickly and effectively by utilizing all resources available to the Information Services Department.
  • Supplement the effectiveness of other administrative departments, such as Conflicts and Docketing, by assisting with overflow requests.
  • Create Information Services policies, guidelines, presentations, and resource materials.
  • Partner with practice groups to initiate the creation of knowledge banks and standardize templates and transactional document sets.
  • Apply your negotiation skills and attention to detail to manage all vendor contracts supporting Information services.
  • Network with peer groups to augment your resources and provide insight into the latest developments in the legal industry's library/information services and knowledge management fields.
  • Draw on your industry expertise to stay abreast of legal news and educate attorneys and staff through creative learning avenues.
  • Manage the Information Services Department’s annual budget to ensure proper resources are available for information and technology resources while meeting the Firm's financial goals.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required. MLS or similar master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of four years' experience in the field of marketing library services, information services, or knowledge management required.

Position: Exempt Location: Century City. 5 days onsite for the first 90-days, then 4 days per week onsite, 1 day remote thereafter. Salary: $110k - $150k base Internal Privacy Policy Apply tot his job Apply To this Job
