Job Summary As a Remote Call Center Agent - FEMA Support and Disaster Relief Services, you will serve as a direct point of contact for individuals registering for federal assistance, seeking relief program referrals, or inquiring about prior registrations. You will work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, utilizing your excellent communication and customer service skills to provide instructions, referrals, and support to those in need. Key Responsibilities: Serve as a primary point of contact for disaster survivors, responding to inquiries and providing support via phone calls. Conduct scripted interviews to determine needs and provide instructions and/or referrals to applicable relief programs and secondary support organizations. Enter information into FEMA's Windows-based computer database, ensuring accurate and efficient data management. Provide phone numbers and agency referrals as necessary for additional support services. Perform additional duties assigned based on FEMA's level of support to the event. Attend scheduled shift meetings to receive event-specific information prior to beginning shift. Display excellent communication and customer service skills, exhibiting a high level of professionalism in all communications. Requirements and Qualifications: Essential Qualifications: Education: Associate degree or equivalent combination of education, technical training, or work experience considered in lieu of degree. Citizenship: U.S. Citizenship is required. Confidentiality: Ability to manage a high level of confidentiality. Technical Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and comfortable working in a Windows-based environment. Communication Skills: Excellent organizational, written, and verbal communication skills. Work Environment: Ability to perform comfortably in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented work environment. Teamwork: Ability to work as a team member, as well as independently. Preferred Qualifications: Previous Experience: Previous experience in customer service, call center operations, or a related field. Language Skills: Fluency in multiple languages (in addition to English). Skills and Competencies: To succeed in this role, you will need to possess: Excellent Communication Skills: Ability to communicate clearly, concisely, and empathetically with disaster survivors. Technical Proficiency: Comfortable working in a Windows-based environment and utilizing Microsoft Office Suite. Organizational Skills: Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize responsibilities in a fast-paced environment. Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain confidentiality. Adaptability: Ability to adapt to changing situations and priorities.
