Senior SAP ERP Functional Consultant / Project Lead

Title: Senior SAP ERP Functional Consultant / Project Lead Location: Remote (Telework eligible with occasional travel to customer or field locations) Employment Type: Full-Time Salary: $120,000 – $170,000 per year Reporting To: Chief, ERP Section Clearance: Must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance Position Summary The Senior SAP ERP Functional Consultant will provide senior-level expertise in the configuration, operation, and enhancement of the SAP ERP system within a corrections environment supporting inmate security operations. This role includes hands-on SAP configuration, support for system upgrades and patching, integration with third-party applications, and coordination of functional and technical teams. The consultant will also deliver knowledge transfer and informal training to FPI staff and support project management activities. Key Responsibilities · Provide senior-level SAP ERP configuration, development, and operational support across assigned projects. · Coordinate and manage functional and technical team activities, ensuring alignment with project objectives and timelines. · Troubleshoot and resolve SAP ERP system issues, with a focus on supply chain management, materials management, and production planning business processes. · Assist with SAP S/4HANA upgrades, support pack implementations, and version updates, including testing and validation of system changes. · Support integration of SAP ERP with third-party software and internal/external interfaces, including SAP APIs. · Provide expertise in FPI SAP integration options and system architecture. · Support U.S. Treasury G-Invoicing processes and related SAP integrations. · Develop and deliver knowledge transfer sessions and informal training for junior-level and new SAP staff. · Work closely with key end users and technical personnel to configure the ERP system in accordance with business and security requirements. · Provide recommendations to improve SAP system performance, reliability, and efficiency. · Assist the Project Manager by tracking actual costs against budgeted amounts for contract delivery orders and task orders. · Collaborate with primary system administrators to ensure continuity of administrative coverage. Required Qualifications · Minimum two (2) years of experience as an SAP ERP resource with hands-on configuration experience, including configuration of third-party software and SAP configuration modules. · Minimum two (2) years of experience providing training and knowledge transfer to new and junior-level SAP staff. · Minimum one (1) year of experience supporting U.S. Treasury G-Invoicing and SAP API integrations. · Minimum two (2) years of experience supporting FPI business processes, including: o Supply Chain Management o Materials Management o Production Planning · Minimum two (2) years of project management experience, coordinating functional and technical SAP team members. · Minimum one (1) year of experience assisting with SAP S/4HANA upgrades, support packs, or version updates. · Minimum two (2) years of experience providing troubleshooting and issue resolution within an SAP ERP environment. · Minimum two (2) years of experience providing system performance improvement recommendations. · Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business, or a related field; equivalent experience and relevant certifications may be considered. Preferred Qualifications · Prior experience supporting SAP ERP in a corrections, public safety, or federal government environment. · SAP functional certifications (e.g., MM, PP, SD, or S/4HANA). · Experience working within FPI or similar federal SAP environments.
