Student Recruitment Contractor

Contract Duration: January, 2026 - May 31, 2026 Hours: 20 hours per week (Hybrid) Key Responsibilities: The Contractor agrees to provide professional student recruitment and community engagement services to assist Sankofa Montessori (“the School”) in meeting its enrollment goals for the upcoming school year. The primary objective of this engagement is to support the School in increasing student enrollment by approximately 150 students. To meet these goals, the Contractor shall perform the following duties and responsibilities: 1. Recruitment Strategy & Planning

  • Develop, execute, and refine a comprehensive student recruitment plan, including timelines, target audiences, messaging strategies, and measurable benchmarks.
  • Conduct initial and ongoing assessments of recruitment needs, neighborhood demographics, and market trends to inform outreach strategies.
  • Provide strategic recommendations to the School Leader regarding recruitment priorities and upcoming opportunities.

2. Community Engagement & Outreach

  • Identify, secure, and maintain a calendar of community engagement opportunities, including festivals, partner events, neighborhood meetings, business partnerships, and family-focused spaces.
  • Coordinate and participate in a minimum of four(4) recruitment events per month, including weekday, weekend, or evening events as needed.
  • Attend additional high-impact community events when strategically beneficial, with advance communication to the School Leader.

3. Lead Generation & Enrollment Support

  • Create and manage systems, spreadsheets, or CRM tools to track prospective families from initial inquiry through enrollment and onboarding.
  • Conduct timely follow-up via phone, text, email, or in-person communication to ensure prospective families complete each step of the enrollment process.
  • Maintain accurate, up-to-date records of all leads, contacts, and enrollment activity.
  • Provide support during open houses, tours, or enrollment workshops to assist families with applications or required documentation.

4. Collaboration With School Staff

  • Collaborate with designated school staff to plan, organize, and facilitate recruitment events, open houses, school tours, and family engagement activities.
  • Work closely with the School Leader and Operations team to ensure alignment between recruitment efforts, available seats, and programmatic updates.
  • Represent Sankofa Montessori in a professional and positive manner at all events and interactions with families and community partners.

5. Community Partnerships

  • Establish and nurture ongoing relationships with community organizations, businesses, early childhood centers, apartment complexes, and neighborhood groups.
  • Maintain a list of active and potential partners, including contact information, partnership status, and opportunities for collaboration.
  • Recommend additional outreach locations and manage attendance at these sites as appropriate.

6. Reporting & Communication

  • Provideweekly written updates to the School Leader summarizing recruitment activities, event outcomes, lead generation data, and next steps.
  • Maintain a detailed recruitment tracker documenting outreach activities, leads, conversion rates, and enrollment progress.
  • Immediately notify the School Leader of any concerns, risks, or barriers that may impact enrollment targets.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • A collaborative mindset and ability to give/receive constructive feedback.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and evolving environment.
  • Physical capability to engage in activities such as standing, walking, and lifting up to 40 lbs.
  • Dedication to the mission of Sankofa Montessori and a willingness to support our community

COMPENSATION

  • In full consideration of all services performed by the Contractor as described in this agreement, Sankofa Montessori shall pay the Contractor a flat rate between $1,000- $1,500 per week (depending on years of experience).
  • The Contractor is considered a non-employee for tax, unemployment insurance, disability insurance, and worker’s compensation insurance purposes, as well as for any Family and Medical Leave or other benefits. Contractor is not eligible for overtime pay.
  • Should Contractor need to travel to fulfill responsibilities, Sankofa Montessori will not be responsible for travel costs.
