Job Summary We are seeking an experienced Online Instructor - Chemistry to teach online courses in our Chemistry program. As an Online Instructor, you will be responsible for creating and delivering engaging online content, assessing student learning, and providing support to students in a virtual environment. This is an excellent opportunity for a chemistry professional to share their expertise and passion for teaching with students remotely.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and deliver high-quality online chemistry courses, including lesson plans, assessments, and course materials
  • Teach online courses in a variety of formats, including asynchronous and synchronous delivery
  • Assess student learning and progress, providing constructive feedback and support
  • Engage with students in a virtual environment, responding to questions and concerns in a timely and effective manner
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress, attendance, and grades
  • Participate in departmental and college-wide meetings, contributing to the development of curriculum and policy
  • Stay current with developments in chemistry and chemistry education, incorporating best practices into online courses

Essential Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering, Chemical Physics, or Geochemistry
  • 9 graduate semester hours in chemistry (or 18 graduate semester hours in chemistry and applied chemistry and chemistry-related coursework)
  • Certifications in online teaching (e.g., Blackboard, Canvas, or equivalent)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced online environment, with multiple priorities and deadlines

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous online teaching experience
  • Experience with online learning platforms and tools (e.g., Blackboard, Canvas, Zoom)
  • Strong knowledge of chemistry and chemistry education, with a passion for teaching and learning
