The Information Science Team at blithequark
The Information Science team at blithequark combines deep data analysis and research of our rich customer data to present a compelling vision around customer retention and preferences across the vast landscape of our product offerings and content. We are the data and analytics partners for the content, marketing, product, and engineering teams at Disney+, Hulu, and ESPN+. Key Responsibilities
* Support the streaming business with AI and factual displaying focused on understanding and predicting subscriber behavior, such as churn, upgrade/downgrade, cost responsiveness, customer segmentation, survival analysis, A/B testing, and causal inference.
- Create and implement innovative AI strategies to address key business questions while identifying new areas to explore.
- Drive experimentation to assess the effects of your models.
- Collaborate closely with colleagues across the organization to identify and unlock opportunities. You will also work with other data teams to improve platform capabilities around data modeling, data representation, experimentation, and data design.
- Present your recommendations to senior leaders.
Essential Capabilities
* Bachelor's or Graduate degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Science, Physics, Econometrics, or Statistics.
- 3+ years of experience designing, building, and evaluating effective AI solutions.
- Strong coding experience in (at least one) data programming languages like Python/R, with additional experience in scientific libraries like Numpy, Pandas, or similar libraries.
- Proficient in analyzing data and creating ML models using Python (with ML frameworks like TensorFlow, scikit-learn, etc.).
- Strong foundation in statistical modeling: regression, clustering, time series estimation, causal inference, and other methods.
- Experience creating flexible numerical models and solving complex quantitative problems that can be understood by non-technical colleagues.
- Ability to make insights and recommendations from data to inform model development and business decisions.
- Willingness to collaborate with other data researchers, data analysts, and key colleagues.
- Good understanding of SQL.

* Postgraduate education in a quantitative field.
- Excellent analytical skills, high-level degree of statistical knowledge.
- Demonstrated skills in choosing the right statistical tools given a data analysis problem.
- Ability to adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment with shifting needs.
- Strong interpersonal skills, for both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Ability to focus on multiple tasks simultaneously and meet deadlines.
- Experience with data platforms and applications like Databricks, Jupyter, Snowflake, Wind current, Github.
- Experience with designing and analyzing A/B testing and other experimentation types.
- Experience thinking critically to interpret market and customer data, ideally about a subscription service.
- Experience with distributed data technologies (Hive, Hadoop).
- Experience with NLP and NN models.
