Your New Career – The Role: As an Amazon Flex partner, you are an independent contractor. Your primary role is to pick up pre-packaged orders from a local Amazon station (Fulfillment Center, Sortation Center, or Fresh Warehouse) and deliver them directly to customers. The types of deliveries you make can vary, from standard Amazon.com packages to time-sensitive Amazon Fresh groceries or Prime Now orders. You are responsible for managing your time, navigating your route, and ensuring packages are delivered accurately and safely. This is an active, on-the-go role that is perfect for those who love to drive and work independently. The 'Training' – Getting Started: Getting started with Amazon Flex is simple. 'No experience' is necessary. The process is managed entirely through the Amazon Flex app: 1. Download the App: You will download the Amazon Flex app to your smartphone. 2. Onboarding: You will complete an online registration, provide proof of your driver's license, vehicle insurance, and social security number for a background check. 3. Video Training: You will watch a series of short, instructional videos within the app that teach you the delivery process: how to accept blocks, how to scan packages at the station, how to use the navigation, and how to complete a delivery or handle an issue (like an undeliverable package). There is no classroom training; you learn everything you need right from your phone before you start your first block. A Day in the Life – What to Expect: Your 'workday' is defined by the blocks you schedule: * Schedule Your Block: You will open the Flex app and browse available delivery blocks for the coming days. Blocks show the station location (e.g., 'DMI1 - Miami'), the duration (e.g., 3.5 hours), and the guaranteed minimum payment for that block. * Arrive at the Station: You'll drive your personal vehicle to the Amazon station at the start of your block. You'll check in using the app. * Pick Up Packages: You will be directed to a pickup area where you'll scan a route code. A cart with all the packages for your route will be assigned to you. You'll scan each package and load them into your *own car*. * On the Road (Delivery): You'll open the Flex app, which now has your complete, pre-planned route with navigation. You will drive your car to each stop, scan the package, and deliver it according to the customer's instructions (e.g., 'Leave with receptionist'). You will take a photo of the delivery to confirm its location. * Problem-Solving: If you have an issue (e.g., can't access a building), you'll use the app to contact the customer or Amazon support for help. * End of Block: Once your last package is delivered, you're done.
