Key Responsibilities
As a Tax Technician I, your primary responsibilities will include:
- Receiving and screening digital documents from blithequark divisions and external partners.
- Scanning/uploading files, manually entering data, and performing accuracy checks.
- Creating and updating taxpayer accounts via registration and maintenance systems.
- Reviewing documentation for use tax liability, tax exemptions, or missing information.
- Generating and sending system-produced correspondence (emails or letters).
- Communicating with taxpayers via phone or email to resolve billing or compliance issues.
- Maintaining virtual record folders and adhering to secure data storage procedures.
- Using authorized systems to verify account accuracy and completeness.
- Assisting with onboarding and guiding new remote team members.
Minimum Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need to possess:
- A high school diploma or GED; some college coursework in accounting, business, or finance is preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) and web-based data systems.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in fast-paced remote settings.
