General Labor/Assistant for Water Well Drilling

Job Description

American Pump & Drilling is a fast-growing local business looking for a self-motivated and reliable individual who enjoys working hard to join our team. APD has physical locations in Ucon, Idaho; Idaho Falls, Idaho; and Afton, Wyoming, and specializes in delivering water. This position will be based out of Idaho Falls, Idaho. Essential Job Functions & Responsibilities include

• Assist Primary Driller with Drilling operations
• Assist in loading and unloading trucks
• Can lift 50+ pounds safely throughout the day
• Move equipment to and from drill sites
• Assist with water well development
• Assist with Rig Repair and Maintenance, as needed
• Cross-train into other job functions, as needed

Desired Skills

• Exposure to Drilling is a plus, but if not, a mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn and work hard will be considered
• Exposure to air rotary, mud rotary, reverse circulation and flooded reverse rotary drilling methods are a plus
• Welding and cutting experience are a plus
• General mechanic skills a plus
• Willing and able to receive on-the-job training
• Willing to adhere to strict safety rules and regulations
• Willing to work overtime as needed to complete projects and meet deadlines
• Thoroughness and attention to detail
• Verbal and written communication skills
• Class A CDL beneficial, Tanker and Combination Endorsements are a plus
• MSHA Certifications are a plus
