Staff Data Engineer

About this Role

Fandom is growing! We are looking for a Staff Data Engineer for a project about competitive intelligence, developing a tool to build competitive bundles as well as optimization of our data stack for affiliate networks.

Are you an experienced data engineer who is ready to help gamers from all over the world find amazing games at amazing prices. In this role, you will be supporting gamers in letting them quickly find what they want from a selection of over 10,000 officially licensed digital games from over 1,100+ publishers.

As a member of our Data Engineering team, you will enhance, optimize, support, and maintain our current data warehouse and ETL/ELT infrastructure.

You Will…

  • Work on challenging team projects to enhance our legacy data infrastructure including:
    • Building a robust infrastructure and data logic to gather sales and inventory data, including collaboration with the Analytics team on delivering related reports and dashboards,
    • Supporting the deployment of a new affiliate network by ensuring the appropriate gathering and processing of related data for reporting purposes.
  • Play a significant role in setting directions for the development of our data platform to the next level
  • Work closely with our experienced engineering and analytical teams on the design, development, and maintenance of our data flows
  • Provide appropriate data tools and infrastructure to data consumers such as the analytics teams to ease their work
  • Provide mentorship to less experienced members of the team

You Have…

  • At least 3 years of documented experience as a senior data engineer
  • At least 5 years of experience as data engineering covering:
  • SQL
  • Python
  • Airflow (building and maintaining pipelines)
  • Redshift
  • data modeling (data mart, medallion architecture)
  • maintaining and troubleshooting the AWS stack (especially EC2, Athena, EMR, MWAA, Lambda, IAM, CloudWatch)
  • Terraform
  • Docker
  • Git
  • CI/CD (Jenkins/Github actions)
  • Agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban)
  • Familiar with the Atlassian tools JIRA and Confluence
  • High communication skills
  • Fluency in English
  • Interest in cooperation based on fix-term B2B contract (6 months with possibility to extend)
