Your Day at blithequark

As a Customer Service Associate, you'll welcome customers to blithequark and help them find the right products and services for their home improvement needs. You'll interact with customers throughout the day, help them find and select products, occasionally load merchandise, and ensure all customer needs are met. While you'll spend most of your time listening to customers, answering questions, and organizing merchandise, your daily responsibilities may vary by department.

Key Responsibilities

As a Customer Service Associate, you'll be responsible for:

Welcoming customers

to blithequark and delivering friendly and professional customer service

Assisting customers

with locating and handling merchandise

Down stocking merchandise

by looking for empty areas on shelves and replenishing supplies

Processing orders and deliveries

accurately so customers receive merchandise as expected and on time

Cross-functionally training

in other areas of the store to help deliver the best customer service

Preparing merchandise

in your department based on customer needs (e.g., tint and mix paint, cut and thread pipe, cut and bundle wood, cut drywall, cut blinds)

Guiding customers

through shopping or checkout

Completing other duties

as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

To be considered for this role, you'll need:

6 months of experience

using a computer, including inputting, accessing, modifying, or outputting information

6 months of experience

using common retail technology, such as smart phones and tablets

Reading, writing, and performing basic arithmetic

(addition and subtraction)

Ability to perform duties

that may require prolonged standing, sitting, and other activities necessary to perform job duties

Minimally lift 25lbs unassisted

or over 25lbs with or without an accommodation

Preferred Qualifications

While not required, we encourage candidates with:

6 months of retail and/or customer service experience

Travel Requirements

This role does not require regular travel; however, this role may need to travel occasionally to meetings, training, or to support neighboring stores.

Working Conditions

Environmental factors vary by location. You may be working in both inside and outside weather conditions. Exposure to varying climates, including extreme heat or cold, wet, damp, humid, windy, or drafty conditions, is possible. You may be exposed to constant or intermittent noises in addition to moving or shaking objects and equipment.

Lifting methods

vary based on role, weight, and volume. Associates must follow guidelines, limiting single lifts to 75 pounds. Team lifts are used minimally starting at 75 pounds or when needed. Powered equipment should be used as required, with proper training or assistance from a trained coworker.
