START represents a broad roster of Principal Investigators across its eight clinical trial sites and operates facilities in the United States and in Spain, Portugal, and Ireland. We are hiring a Clinic Nurse for our San Antonio, TX location. The Clinic Nurse supports clinic providers with examination, evaluation and triage of individuals who are participants in research protocols conducted Clinic Nurse uses professional judgment in planning and providing care, delivered in alignment with Standard Operating Procedures, standards of practice, and professional evidence-based standards.

Responsibilities

• Perform telephone triage, patient assessments (vitals, ECGs), and document patient history in EMR.
• Educate patients on clinical trial participation, chemotherapy/immunotherapy, and side effects.
• Ensure patient safety, dignity, and well-being, coordinating care with internal and external staff.
• Prepare for clinic days, assist with prescription refills, and manage quality standards for EHR/PQRS.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and staff, ensuring sensitivity to cultural diversity and confidentiality.
• Collaborate with physicians to ensure necessary labs, assessments, and orders are completed.
• Provide technical support with healthcare equipment and assist with training less experienced staff.

Education & Experience

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Licensed Registered Nurse in practicing state.
• 1-year oncology experience.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification, an AHA certificate.
• Experience working with Microsoft Office, including Teams, Excel, Outlook and Word.

Preferred Education And Experience

• Bachelor's degree of Nursing.
• Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN).
• ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Certificate™ completed within the last 5 years or obtained within first year of employment.
• Clinical Trials experience.
