Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Part-Time Evening Housekeeper to join our team. As a Housekeeper, you will play a vital role in maintaining a clean, safe, and attractive environment throughout all hospital departments, patient areas, and support areas. This is a unique opportunity to work in a dynamic and patient-centered environment, while enjoying the flexibility of remote work.

Responsibilities

• Perform the 8-step cleaning procedures, including daily cleaning, discharge cleaning, bed making, wall spots, toilet cleaning, high and low dusting, and terminal cleaning.
• Complete work from previous shifts if needed, report all incomplete assignments and maintenance issues.
• Clean up all organic body waste, blood, and body fluids, feces, sputum, etc., as instructed by the supervisor or team leader.
• Hang cubical curtains, shower curtains, and window curtains.
• Perform discharge cleaning, disinfect, and/or sanitize poles, pumps, and other patient equipment.
• Perform all Environmental Services-related tasks and demonstrate the ability to follow department guidelines related to the work.
• Perform basic and heavier cleaning functions in assigned areas following established schedules and using prescribed methods.
• Clean patient equipment as requested by supervisor, including beds and all room furnishings.
• Assist in manpower support for office and/or related moves, special conference room set-ups, and any other occasions as required.
• Ability to perform cleaning of emergency spills when observed and/or upon request.

Requirements

• High school education or equivalent preferred.
• Must have the ability to understand and converse in English at a level that allows safe, efficient performance of the job.
• Be able to lift 25-50 pounds.
• Requires physical demands, ability to stand for long periods, bending, stooping, and lifting.
• Competent in using proper chemicals for proper tasks.
• Ability to learn and demonstrate new procedures related to the healthcare industry.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience in housekeeping or a related field.
• Knowledge of cleaning procedures and protocols.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
