Job Overview

The Customer Systems group at blithequark is seeking an experienced Java Developer to join our team. As a Java Software Engineer, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams across blithequark to design, develop, and implement new solutions. You will work closely with our business leaders and various stakeholders to deliver high-quality products that meet the needs of our customers. The ideal candidate should be able to work independently, prioritize requirements, and develop solutions for complex systems and content, with the ability to work under pressure occasionally.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain large-scale enterprise-level Java applications, including architecture, design, development, and support
  • Collaborate with business leaders and stakeholders to understand requirements and develop solutions that meet their needs
  • Work with cross-functional teams to implement new solutions and ensure seamless integration with existing systems
  • Develop and maintain expertise in Java and Java Enterprise development applications, including design, development, and support
  • Utilize expertise in artificial intelligence and machine learning to build and optimize large-scale data infrastructure
  • Design and develop scalable systems, including synchronous programming, coding data structures, and architecting application layers in SOA/Microservices architecture
  • Develop and implement secure and reliable distributed applications, ensuring the security of data and systems
  • Lead and mentor other engineers, providing guidance and expertise to ensure the delivery of high-quality products
  • Optimize application performance, utilizing techniques and strategies to improve efficiency and scalability

Essential Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or Information Technology
  • At least 2 years of experience in designing and developing large-scale enterprise-level back-end systems
  • Proven experience with Java, Spring, multi-threading, REST, Data Storage Systems, DB design, and data access technologies
  • Experience with building and optimizing large-scale data infrastructure, including artificial intelligence and machine learning
  • Strong understanding of applications performance improvement techniques and storage solutions
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize requirements, and develop solutions for complex systems and content
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work with cross-functional teams and stakeholders

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with responsive Java applications and web development frameworks
  • Knowledge of cloud-based technologies, including AWS or Azure
  • Experience with agile development methodologies, including Scrum or Kanban
  • Strong understanding of security principles and practices, including data encryption and access control
  • Experience with leading and mentoring other engineers, providing guidance and expertise to ensure the delivery of high-quality products
