Job Summary

As a Senior Data Scientist - Demand Forecasting, you'll be responsible for using advanced machine learning techniques to design and build predictive models that forecast demand for Walmart's products. You'll work closely with cross-functional teams, including data scientists, engineers, product managers, and business professionals to develop and implement analytics solutions that drive business growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and implement predictive models that forecast demand using high-dimensional datasets and large data
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to define metrics and forecast quality
  • Work with development teams to productionize models and deploy them to production environments
  • Provide strategic recommendations to cross-functional teams through effective communication and data analysis
  • Stay up-to-date with emerging trends and technologies in machine learning and predictive analytics

Requirements

Technical Expertise

  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field
  • 3+ years of experience in a related field, such as data science, machine learning, or analytics
  • Technical expertise in machine learning, statistical analysis, and data mining
  • Proficiency in machine learning using Python, with experience with SQL and working with large datasets and distributed computing tools (Spark, PySpark)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience developing machine learning models from initial design to production
  • Familiarity with open-source frameworks, such as scikit-learn, TensorFlow, or PyTorch
  • Experience with optimization models and econometrics
  • Master's degree in Machine Learning, Computer Science, Information Technology, Operations Research, Statistics, or Applied Mathematics
