At Life Skills Autism Academy (LSAA), a specialized facility of Centria Healthcare, we're dedicated to providing Early Intensive Behavior Intervention to children up to age 6 who have been diagnosed with Autism. About Us

LSAA is committed to helping children with Autism build the skills and behaviors necessary to navigate the world around them successfully. Our team of experienced professionals works closely with clients and their families to develop and implement personalized Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) designed to promote social relationships, independence, and overall quality of life.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide direct client care in 1:1 and group settings utilizing a combination of intensive teaching and natural environment training.
  • Follow the prescribed behavioral skill acquisition and behavior reduction protocols as outlined in the client's individualized treatment plan, as designed by a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA).
  • Collect, record, and summarize data on observable client behavior, ensuring timely and accurate documentation.
  • Communicate with parents/guardians/caregivers regarding client progress, as instructed by the BCBA.
  • Assist with parent/guardian/caregiver training, as instructed by the BCBA.
  • Utilize appropriate safety protocols when working with clients, reporting critical incidents and safety concerns accordingly.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work and therapy environment.
  • Assist BCBA with day-to-day tasks as needed, such as preparing session space and materials, coordinating assessments, and demonstrating skill acquisition as requested.
  • Participate in supervised sessions according to Company and Board requirements.
  • Accept feedback and apply changes/recommendations to enhance practice and increase clinical outcomes.

Essential Qualifications, Skills, and Knowledge

To be successful in this role, you must:

  • Be at least 18 years of age.
  • Hold a minimum of a High School Diploma or GED.
  • Possess reliable transportation.
  • Hold ABA certification as a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT).
  • Be willing to obtain Adult & Pediatric First Aid + CPR certifications.
  • Have a clear Tuberculosis (TB) test prior to starting with a client, and annually thereafter.
  • Be physically able to perform job duties, with or without reasonable accommodations.
  • Demonstrate reliability, professionalism, and a positive attitude.
  • Possess strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Show cultural competency and flexibility.

Preferred Qualifications

While not required, the following qualifications are highly valued:

  • Experience working as a Behavioral Technician/Registered Behavior Technician/Board Certified Autism Technician.
  • Personal or professional experience working with children with Autism or disabilities.
  • Education or pursuing education in Psychology, Early Childhood Education, Special Education, Childhood Development, Applied Behavior Analysis, Speech & Language Pathology, or related fields.
