We're now seeking an experienced Data Scientist to join our Scientific Affairs team and contribute to the development of Real-World Evidence (RWE) through advanced analytics and progressive processes.

Job Summary

As a Data Scientist at blithequark, you'll play a vital role in producing RWE by applying superior analytics and data science techniques to drive internal and external decision-making. You'll work closely with the Clinical Trial team to provide actionable insights from real-world data, clinical trials, and other sources. Your expertise will help shape our analytics strategy, inform business decisions, and drive the development of innovative healthcare solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain standardized, analysis-ready patient cohorts from in-house data sources or certified systems, and interpret results to inform business decisions
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide actionable insights from real-world data, clinical trials, and other sources to support biopharmaceutical RWE and clinical trial requests
• Design, develop, and maintain integrated data lakes for future analysis and broader team consumption
• Perform data mining and statistical analysis to uncover new insights on patient populations and treatment outcomes
• Support the development of real-world data, analytics, and platform capabilities, applying advanced analytics and tools to address clinical questions from biopharmaceutical companies
• Collaborate on the design and execution of outcomes research studies
• Ensure high-quality, rigorous, and easily interpretable deliverables from RWE research and analyses
• Build dashboards, analytics, and reports for internal and external consumption
• Conduct due diligence on new real-world data sources and power RWD quality assessments to inform investment decisions

Essential Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you'll need:

• A Bachelor's degree or graduate degree in a quantitative or computational field
• At least 4 years of experience in a quantitative or computational role
• 4 years of experience in R, Python, or SQL
• Experience in designing and executing robust and reproducible statistical analyses in the context of epidemiology and observational studies with healthcare data
• Knowledge of common statistical testing techniques, including generalized linear models, classification and discrimination, decision trees, unsupervised learning, time series analysis, and survival analysis
• Experience processing large data from diverse data sources
• Experience handling protected patient health information
• Knowledge of at least one Business Intelligence (BI) tool, such as Tableau, Power BI, Alteryx, or Spotfire

Preferred Qualifications

• A Ph.D. or Master's degree in data/biostatistics, computer science, mathematics, systems engineering, biomedical engineering, or a related field
• Expertise in EMR/Health IT, disease registries, and insurance claims databases
• Knowledge of clinical data standards, medical terminologies, and controlled vocabularies used in healthcare data and ontologies (ICD9/10/ReadCode)
• Experience with Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and/or regulatory compliance guidelines for real-world evidence research or clinical trials
• Experience working with alternative data sources and alternative methods of clinical data collection, particularly those enabled by technology platforms and/or solutions
• Experience with experimental design, Bayesian modeling, sequential data, computational statistics
• Understanding of data and systems learning techniques, with the ability to maintain self-learning of technical and non-technical skills
