Base pay is determined by your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. About Our Opportunity Our Associate Vice President (AVP) / Vice-President (VP) Food and Agribusiness Capital Markets has the responsibility to build and maintain relationships with system partners and non-farm credit system customers (defined as lenders, bankers, brokers, participation partners, and borrowers) and will understand, work on, and discuss complex financial issues and pricing models with all customers. Team members in this role focus primarily on multi-million participation and syndication deals. Our Vice President Food and Agribusiness Capital Markets will coordinate closely with Food and Agribusiness Team, Credit, Legal, Finance, and Accounting staff to ensure timely and high quality delivery of service to all customers. How You Will Spend Your Time Sales and Relationship Management

  • Utilize expertise in financial markets to cultivate relationships with new and existing clients and develop new customer relationships.
  • Develop strong relationships with other Farm Credit associations to cultivate participation and syndication opportunities.
  • Coordinate with team members to identify new lender partners, provide high quality customer service to all lending partners and share appropriate information to help the association achieve its desired results.
  • Develop and maintain a significant professional presence. Spend time out of the office to build professional relationships with customers based on mutual trust and respect to facilitate an understanding of participation partner goals, credit strengths and weaknesses of the customer.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities in the loan participation market by leveraging industry knowledge, market trends, and competitive intelligence.
  • Maintain a deep understanding of the loan participation market, including regulatory requirements, market dynamics, and competitor offerings, to provide informed advice and guidance to clients and colleagues.
  • Strong analytical, financial modeling, and credit assessment skills, with the ability to structure complex transactions and make sound risk/reward judgments.
  • Using industry expertise, deliver added value and constructive feedback to assist the participation partner and the borrower.
  • Determine and define the appropriate internal and external customer interaction and coordinate the appropriate staff that may directly or indirectly be a part of the relationship to serve the customer’s needs.
  • Maintain a sound working knowledge of agricultural industry trends and characteristics.
  • Understand and structure profitable deals that serve the customer, meet market needs, and protects Farm Credit Mid-America.

Deliver Sound Credit

  • Interpret and evaluate financial information of all customers (lenders and borrowers) and ask probing questions to determine the appropriate product and service.
  • Collaborate with the Credit Officers to make quality credit decisions, consistent with the request and associated loan risks while setting clear expectations with the customer (lender and borrower).
  • Coordinate, communicate and drive implementation of consistent interpretation of Association credit philosophy.

Service Portfolio

  • Monitor their participation portfolio to identify and service loans, including monitoring loan performance after loan closing.
  • Using knowledge of servicing, effectively negotiate and communicate options to the customer (lender and/or borrower).

Minimum Education & Experience Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Agriculture or related field. Five or more years of progressively responsible agricultural credit experience involving the marketing and extension of credit to Agribusiness and large, complex farm accounts. Skill in complex financial structures, sales calling, team involvement, and automated sales systems are required. Prior experience in negotiating, structuring, and closing complex loan transactions is strongly preferred. Mental & Physical Requirements

  • Successfully represent the association and interact via telephone and face-to-face conversation with team members, board members, customers, vendors, and/or the public at all levels.
  • Use a computer and similar office tools and technology. This involves reading the screen and keying/typing information.
  • Speak, provide sound technical advice and make presentations to individuals or groups on subjects related to areas of responsibility.
  • Travel via auto or commercial transportation to carry out essential responsibilities of the job.
  • Understand and explain various subject matter and consulting concepts, programs, terminology, and methods.
  • Reason, judge, compare, calculate, evaluate, decide, and critique such information as written.
  • Move about the office with occasional reaching and bending.
