Job Responsibilities

As an Experienced Technical Writer on our iX team, you'll be responsible for creating and maintaining high-quality technical documentation, content, and user interface text that supports our customers' success. Your primary responsibilities will include:

• Writing technical documentation for builders and cloud architects constructing solutions for their own personal Google Cloud
• Producing and curating content that supports customers' needs and goals
• Editing, clarifying, and proofreading files written by others, and training non-writers on techniques to enhance their writing skills
• Collaborating with a global team of Engineers, Product teams, content strategists, and other technical writers to ensure consistency, quality, and customer satisfaction

Essential Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you'll need:

• A Bachelor's degree in Technical Writing, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent experience
• A minimum of 1 year of experience in technical writing, with a proven track record of creating high-quality documentation and content
• Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts in a clear, concise manner
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders
• Experience with HTML, Markdown, or Unix environments is a plus

Preferred Qualifications

If you have:

• A Master's degree in Writing, Engineering, or a related field
• 2+ years of experience in technical writing, with a strong portfolio of work
• Experience working with cloud computing platforms, such as Google Cloud
• Strong knowledge of content management systems, such as Confluence or SharePoint
• Experience with user interface design and development, such as HTML, CSS, or JavaScript

• Strong technical writing skills, with the ability to create high-quality documentation and content
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues
• Experience with Agile development methodologies and version control systems, such as Git
• Strong knowledge of cloud computing platforms, such as Google Cloud
• Experience with content management systems, such as Confluence or SharePoint
