Job Description

Performs nursing process while providing direct patient care in a safe and effective manner that promotes quality patient outcomes. Functions as member of interdisciplinary healthcare team. This position requires ability to work on site at our Contact Center. Remote work may be considered after an initial orientation and training period but won't be immediately. Experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing
  • 1 year of experience

Our ideal candidate comes with at least 5 years of pediatric nursing experience, preferably in emergency, urgent care, or pediatric primary care environments, and is available to work on-site during evenings and weekends. Education

  • Graduation from accredited school of nursing

Certification Summary

  • Licensure as a Registered Nurse in the single State of Georgia or Multi-State through the Enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of employment
  • Pediatric Emergency Assessment Recognition and Stabilization (PEARS) within 1 year of employment

Job Responsibilities PRACTICE (Caring for the Patient) 1.Performs nursing process across the continuum to deliver age and developmentally appropriate patient-family-centered care. 2.Integrates values and language preferences into healthcare delivery through a culturally sensitive process. 3.Utilizes clinical decision support tools and resources to recognize issues, prioritize care, and modify plan of care as needed. 4.Utilizes appropriate documentation tools to record, measure, and retrieve healthcare data. 5.Provides patient and family education appropriate for identified learning needs. 6.Utilizes resources to plan and provide nursing care that is safe, effective, and financially responsible. DEVELOPMENT (Fostering Clinical Knowledge) 1.Participates in lifelong learning to maintain knowledge and competence that reflects current nursing practice. 2.Incorporates new knowledge into nursing practice to support desired outcomes. 3.Maintains professional records that provide evidence of competence and learning. 4.Self-evaluates professional practice in relation to performance, development, resiliency, and goals. 5.Takes action to achieve goals identified during performance review, resulting in change in practice and role performance. ENGAGEMENT (Engaging and Leading Professionally) 1.Provides oversight for nursing care given by unlicensed personnel while retaining accountability for patient care quality. 2.Engages in ethical practices utilizing principles from The Code of Ethics for Nurses. 3.Maintains therapeutic and professional relationships with appropriate role boundaries. 4.Contributes to a supportive and healthy work environment. 5.Consults, contributes to, and coordinates care with interdisciplinary healthcare team members. 6.Demonstrates investment in others through teaching/coaching/helper roles. 7.Demonstrates support of shared leadership through awareness of initiatives and providing input. PROFESSIONAL MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS 1. Completes orientation and Initial Assessment of Competency successfully by determined due date. 2. Completes mandatory education and annual competency assessment requirements as defined by unit and system by due date. 3. 75% attendance at staff meetings, if applicable.
