As a Senior Art Director (Illustration) for our bolthires Lorcana TCG, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping the visual direction and artistic vision of our trading card game. Working closely with our creative management team and other multi-disciplinary experts, you'll establish a cohesive set vision, manage critical art processes, and mentor and coach other team members to achieve exceptional results.

Job Summary:

We're seeking an experienced and visionary Senior Art Director (Illustration) to join our bolthires Lorcana TCG team. As a subject matter expert for the IP, you'll commission, inspire, and guide artists to deliver high-quality artwork that meets the brand's standards and exceeds player expectations. Your expertise in visual storytelling, illustration, and art direction will help establish our brand as a leader in the industry.

Key Responsibilities:

* Establish mood boards for theming and world-building, setting the tone for each set's visual identity

• Develop visual hooks for each assigned set, capturing the essence of the game's narrative and design
• Collaborate with the creative management team to develop visual solutions that meet brand, narrative, and game design goals
• Commission illustrations and provide timely feedback to artists, ensuring their best work is showcased
• Create redlines or corrective artwork to guide and mentor artists, helping them grow and improve
• Prepare concept art, sketches, and final artwork for licensor reviews, ensuring seamless collaboration and approval
• Develop assets and work within Licensor and Ravensburger TCG guidelines, maintaining the highest standards of quality and consistency
• Provide feedback on premium card production, ensuring the final product meets our brand's expectations
• Aid in growing the freelance artist pool, identifying and nurturing talent that reflects Ravensburger's quality standards
• Participate in regular Creative meetings with stakeholders, presenting ideas and collaborating on set vision and theming

Essential Qualifications:

* 5+ years of experience as an art leader in TCG, visual development, or a related field

• Strong drawing capabilities, understanding of anatomy, perspective, and lighting
• Knowledge of artistic and technical illustration fundamentals
• Ability to meet tight deadlines and inspire others to do the same
• Strong sense of aesthetics and visual storytelling
• Collaborative and active team player with a passion for diversity and inclusion
• Knowledge and love of bolthires animation, with a desire to be a proud steward of the IP

Preferred Qualifications:

* Experience working with bolthires IPs or similar franchises

• Strong understanding of visual development and narrative work together
• Ability to create visual development artwork to solve narrative needs
• Strong teaching and mentoring skills, with a focus on artist development and growth
• Familiarity with Ravensburger's product range and brand standards

Compensation and Perks:
