Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and qualified Adjunct Faculty Member for Mild to Moderate Special Education to teach online undergraduate courses in special education. The successful candidate will have a strong background in special education, excellent teaching skills, and a passion for making a difference in the lives of students with mild to moderate disabilities. As an adjunct faculty member, you will be responsible for providing high-quality instruction, facilitating online discussions, assessing student performance, and preparing students for successful careers in special education.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide program instruction in an online format, incorporating innovative teaching methodologies and cutting-edge technologies
• Facilitate online discussions, engage students in learning, and assess student performance
• Equip students with the required skill set, knowledge, and expertise needed to succeed in special education
• Prepare students to be successful leaders in their chosen profession
• Support the University's Doctrinal Statement, Ethical Position Statement, and Mission
• Participate in course development, curriculum planning, and program evaluation
• Collaborate with colleagues to achieve program goals and objectives

Essential Qualifications

• Master's degree in Special Education from an accredited institution
• Valid state special education teaching certification
• At least three years of teaching experience with students with disabilities (grades K-12)
• At least six graduate credits in methods/strategies/characteristics/curriculum planning for students with mild to moderate disabilities

Preferred Qualifications

• Doctorate in Special Education from an accredited institution
• Valid state full special education teaching certification
• Enrolled in a terminal/doctoral degree program with a minimum of 18 credits successfully completed
• Minimum of 4 years of experience as a board member on two or more boards related to content areas
• Recognized with two or more awards for expertise in content area
• Over 3 publications in peer-reviewed journals within the last 7 years
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in a leadership position within a professional association
• Minimum of 10 years of work experience in the field of special education
