Job Overview

This is a part-time, 20-hour per week position, scheduled Monday through Friday from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm. As a Certified Medical Assistant, you'll play a vital role in our Community Medical Group, providing essential support to our healthcare team and delivering exceptional patient care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provides patient care by assessing health status, implementing care plans, documenting interventions, and evaluating patient progress.
  • Coordinates patient flow and prepares patients for examination, taking and recording vital signs and EKGs.
  • Assists physicians and other healthcare professionals with clinical procedures, performs basic office laboratory procedures, and prepares, documents, and administers non-intravenous injections as directed.
  • Triages medical calls according to office protocol, returns patient calls, and documents interactions in patient records.
  • Reviews laboratory results, ensuring abnormal results are brought to the attention of physicians and other relevant team members.

Qualifications and Requirements

Essential Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Certification or registration as a Medical Assistant or Medical Office Assistant from a recognized certifying organization (ARMA, AAMA, AAHA, AMT, NHA, National Center for Competency Testing, or Monty Technical School).
  • If certification is not available upon hire, a Medical Assistant credential must be obtained within 12 months.
  • Valid MA driver's license and reliable transportation to travel to Community Medical Group sites.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively in English, both written and verbal.
  • Proven problem-solving abilities and the capacity to remain calm under stress or in emergency situations.

Preferred Qualifications

  • BLS Certification.
  • Minimum of three years of relevant experience as a Medical Assistant.
  • Medical terminology and computer skills.

Compensation and Benefits

We offer a competitive compensation package, including a salary and comprehensive benefits. Additionally, this position may be eligible for a $3000 sign-on bonus.
