Key Responsibilities

• Make outbound calls to healthcare providers, patients, and insurance carriers to gather and verify information
• Respond to inbound calls as needed, providing expert support and resolving queries
• Utilize computer skills for efficient data entry, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail
• Gather and review patient billing and medical information, analyzing complex problems and providing expert solutions
• Operate in accordance with Federal Health Care Program guidelines, maintaining compliance and integrity
• Collaborate with team members and other departments to provide insights and expertise, driving process improvements
• Work with insurance carriers to ensure coverage of medication on behalf of patients, resolving issues and negotiating when necessary

Essential Qualifications and Skills

To succeed in this role, you'll need:

• At least 1 year of previous Medical Benefits experience (prior authorization experience a plus)
• Medical call center experience (desirable but not required)
• Ability to multi-task and use dual monitors efficiently
• Excellent work attitude, with a willingness to help others and work collaboratively as a team
• High School Diploma or Equivalent

Preferred Qualifications

While not mandatory, the following qualifications will give you a competitive edge:

• Previous experience in a healthcare setting, particularly in prior authorizations
• Strong knowledge of medical terminology, insurance processes, and healthcare regulations
