Job Summary
As a Senior Gear Engineer, you will play a critical role in supporting our development team across all disciplines, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing solutions that enhance our workflow efficiency and overall performance. You will collaborate with our artwork, layout, and engineering groups to analyze workflow inefficiencies, pain points, and troubles in our development process. Your expertise will be essential in generating candidate answers, weighing tradeoffs, and implementing solutions that meet our project timelines and requirements.
Key Responsibilities
* Proactively identify inefficiencies and areas for improvement in our development process across multiple disciplines
- Preserve, extend, and aid our existing development gear
- Build and guide custom asset pipelines
- Grow our proprietary libraries, tools, and technologies across game engines and structures
- Collaborate with our development team to generate candidate answers, weigh tradeoffs, and implement solutions that meet our project timelines and requirements
- Assist in the adoption of new solutions and technologies by the team
- Develop and maintain our set of engine-specific and custom gear used daily
Essential Qualifications
* Strong passion for empowering others to do their best work
- Experience with the overall device lifecycle, including identifying issues, comparing capacity answers, implementing tools, and evaluating their effectiveness
- Enjoy working with custom standalone gear
- Enjoy growing gear that can be utilized by multiple game development disciplines
- Proficiency in C#, C++, Python, and JavaScript
- Ability to work efficiently in a self-directed environment
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Preferred Qualifications
* Experience with custom game engines, including Unreal or Unity
- Familiarity with JavaScript and Net Tech
- Experience with required utility materials
