About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Kindergarten Teacher to join our team for the 2023-24 school year. As a Kindergarten Teacher at Value Schools, you will be responsible for facilitating student learning and development in a standards-based curriculum, creating a socio-emotionally responsive environment, and collaborating with colleagues and parents to support the success of all students. Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and deliver standards-based instruction to Kindergarten students
  • Monitor student acquisition of learning standards through formal and informal assessments
  • Supervise students and model responsible student behavior
  • Provide reports on student progress to parents and other stakeholders
  • Create a socio-emotionally responsive environment that aligns with the values of Value Schools
  • Collaborate with colleagues and school administrators to support student success
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to improve teaching skills and stay current with best practices
  • Act as a role model of the five core values of Value Schools: academic excellence, individual uniqueness, respect, safety, and service to others

Essential Qualifications

  • California Multiple Subject Credential or equivalent
  • Bachelor's degree in the subject area or a closely related field
  • Evidence of agreement with the five core values of Value Schools
  • Compliance with policies on tuberculosis, criminal record review, and employment eligibility verification

Preferred Qualifications

  • Successful experience in teaching or working with students of the age level for which employment is offered
  • Fluency in the native language of students other than English
  • Experience with standards-based curriculum and student-centered learning
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
