About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and passionate Substitute Teacher to join our team in Lincoln Park, NJ. As a Substitute Teacher with Scoot Education, you will have the opportunity to gain hands-on teaching experience on your own schedule. We offer competitive pay rates, with up to $190 for day-to-day assignments and more for long-term assignments. Key Responsibilities:

• Teach a variety of subjects, including math, science, English, and social studies, to students of different ages and skill levels
• Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that cater to the needs of your students
• Manage classroom behavior and create a positive learning environment
• Communicate effectively with students, parents, and school staff
• Be flexible and adaptable in a fast-paced educational setting
• Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance your teaching skills and knowledge

Essential Qualifications:

To be considered for this role, you will need:

• An Associate or Bachelor's degree, or 60+ college credits
• Three professional references, with at least one from a previous direct supervisor
• A NJ Substitute Credential
• A background check and TB risk assessment (we will cover the cost of this)
• Full COVID-19 vaccination
• A passion for education and a commitment to putting students first
• An empathetic nature, a growth mindset, and a drive to be the best you can be

Preferred Qualifications:

While not essential, the following qualifications are highly desirable:

• Previous teaching experience, particularly in a substitute or long-term capacity
• Special education experience or training
• Bilingual or multilingual skills
• Experience working with students of different ages and skill levels
• A strong understanding of curriculum development and implementation
