Job Summary

We are seeking an Assistant Teacher to support our Lead Teachers in the day-to-day operations of our 3-4 year old classroom. As an Assistant Teacher, you will have the opportunity to work with a talented team of educators who are dedicated to providing high-quality education and care to our students. Your role will involve guiding children in their lessons, assisting with snack and lunch preparation and clean-up, and supporting classroom management. Key Responsibilities

  • Assist Lead Teachers in planning and implementing engaging lesson plans that cater to the diverse needs of our students
  • Support children in their learning journey, providing individualized guidance and encouragement as needed
  • Help with snack and lunch preparation and clean-up, promoting healthy eating habits and social skills
  • Assist with classroom management, maintaining a safe, organized, and respectful learning environment
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement school-wide initiatives and events
  • Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge

Requirements and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you should possess the following essential qualifications:

  • A nurturing and kind approach to working with children, with a genuine passion for education and child development
  • Experience working with children, preferably in a preschool or early childhood setting (although not required, as we are willing to train the right individual)
  • Ability to support and encourage each child's educational journey, acting as a caring facilitator to their development and learning
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues, families, and children
  • Flexibility and adaptability, with a willingness to work varied shifts within our operating hours (Monday-Friday, 7:30-5:30)

Preferred Qualifications

While not essential, the following qualifications are highly desirable:

  • Montessori training or experience working in a Montessori-based setting
  • CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain within 30 days of being hired)
  • Completion of online trainings and background check (as required by our school)
  • Knowledge of child development principles, educational theories, and best practices in early childhood education
