Job Summary

As a Customer Service Representative - Chat Agent at Costco's U.S. Member Services Center, you will play a critical role in delivering exceptional customer experiences to our members. Working from our office in Oklahoma, you will be responsible for responding to a high volume of incoming calls and chats, resolving member inquiries, and providing support with website navigation, order tracking, and delivery issues. Key Responsibilities

  • Respond to a high volume of incoming calls and chats from Costco members, providing timely and effective support with website navigation, order tracking, and delivery issues.
  • Determine member needs and provide appropriate solutions, including answering general questions about Costco.com and products, and resolving complex issues related to online orders, tracking, and deliveries.
  • Offer compensations and alternatives as needed to ensure member satisfaction.
  • Serve as the primary contact between Costco.com clients, merchants, purchasing, and operations staff, collaborating to resolve issues and improve the overall customer experience.
  • Utilize multiple computer programs simultaneously on various screens while on the phone or responding to chats, demonstrating excellent technical skills and adaptability.
  • Apply critical thinking and problem-solving skills to resolve order, product, and delivery issues, ensuring prompt and effective resolutions.

Essential Qualifications

Education and Training

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field; high school diploma or GED equivalent is also considered.
  • Internet Business Customer Service Specialist certification (or willingness to obtain within 14-day training program).

Experience and Skills

  • Previous customer service experience is highly preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills, including written and verbal communication, with a minimum typing speed of 30 wpm.
  • Proficient in computer applications, with the ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills, with the ability to work independently and make sound judgments.
