As a Remote Data Analytics Professional, you'll play a critical role in analyzing complex data sets, developing business insights, and driving strategic decisions that impact the company's everyday operations.

About the Role

This position is part of Walmart's Transportation Analytics crew, a Business Intelligence (BI) team dedicated to guiding the transportation division's daily operations. You'll work closely with operations and finance teams to provide actionable insights that inform business decisions, leveraging your technical expertise and business acumen to drive impact from day one.

Key Responsibilities

• Work with large, complex datasets to conduct ad-hoc analyses and inform critical business decisions. Develop ETLs (Extract, Transform, Load) or processes to centralize data from multiple sources.
• Create data visualizations using Tableau to illustrate the impact of changes and business challenges, and quantify results.
• Collaborate with team members and cross-functional groups to establish credibility and analyze stakeholder needs. Partner with Operations, Finance, and Product teams to ensure data accuracy, completeness, and latency across multiple operations and systems.
• Leverage scripting languages like Python to automate reporting tasks, such as screenshot generation, metrics prioritization, and outlier detection.
• Document your processes and share your expertise with peers, mentoring them as you become a Subject Matter Expert in your domain.

Essential Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you'll need:

• Excellent SQL skills, with 2-4 years of experience manipulating data from multiple tables while maintaining data integrity.
• 1-2 years of experience creating impactful Tableau Dashboards with a User Experience (UX) focus.
• Business Operations Fluency, with the ability to understand and root-cause business problems. A Supply Chain background, ideally with transportation experience, is highly desirable.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work cross-functionally with various stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

While not required, the following skills and experiences will give you a competitive edge:

• Advanced experience with SQL and Tableau.
• Experience working in e-commerce operations or parcel service operations.
• Proficiency in Python or other scripting languages.
• Familiarity with data manipulation tools like Knime, Alteryx, R, or Tableau Prep.
