Job Summary

As a Call Center Representative, you will work in a remote setting, utilizing Walgreens' proprietary systems to enroll patients, process data entry tasks, and resolve third-party exceptions. You will be responsible for:

  • Performing patient enrollment and data entry tasks in accordance with state and government guidelines
  • Resolving third-party exceptions by gathering information, making corrections, and resubmitting claims for processing
  • Providing exceptional customer service to patients and healthcare professionals via inbound calls, visits, and messages
  • Utilizing pharmacy systems to retrieve patient and medication information
  • Collaborating with pharmacists and senior-level staff to address issues and concerns

Key Responsibilities

Patient Enrollment and Data Entry

  • Utilize Walgreens' proprietary data entry methodology and guidelines to process new patient enrollments
  • Enter patient information into designated systems, ensuring accuracy and compliance with HIPAA regulations
  • Handle patient medication requests, top-off orders, and missing prescription data
  • Investigate and resolve data entry-related exceptions

Customer Service and Communication

  • Respond to inbound calls, visits, and messages from patients and healthcare professionals
  • Make outbound calls to prescribers, patients, and insurance providers to gather information or resolve issues
  • Provide clear and concise information about patient services, medication, and healthcare programs

Third-Party Exceptions and Resolution

  • Assess and resolve third-party exceptions by gathering information, making corrections, and resubmitting claims
  • Collaborate with insurance providers and other stakeholders to obtain necessary information or approvals

Requirements and Qualifications

Essential Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; GED preferred
  • Basic computer skills, including typing, using a mouse, and navigating software applications
  • Intermediate-level keyboarding skills (at least 25 WPM)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • 18 years of age or older

Preferred Qualifications

  • At least 1 year of pharmacy technician experience in a retail or call center environment
  • Pharmacy technician certification or licensure (e.g., PTCB, state-specific certification)
  • Experience providing customer service to internal and external clients
  • Intermediate to advanced-level keyboarding skills (at least 35 WPM)
  • Bilingual (Spanish and English)
