Job Summary

The Director of Decentralized Clinical Trials will be responsible for the strategic development and execution of clinical trials, ensuring that they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality and compliance. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute clinical trials, ensuring that they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality and compliance
  • Lead cross-functional review teams during all stages of study development, operationalization, and delivery
  • Support the Head of Decentralized Clinical Trials in strategic planning, resourcing, and execution of decentralized and hybrid trials
  • Manage the selection, training, and oversight of decentralized trial vendors, including the development of business requirements and management of the UAT process
  • Oversee the development of study documents and plans, including protocols, ICFs, SAPs, DMPs, and security plans
  • Select, train, manage, and coach DCT team members; collaborate with Product and Technology leadership to ensure that key features are launched on time and meet customer needs
  • Provide oversight of remote clinical trial visits, site initiations, and study closeouts with customer representatives
  • Participate in business development efforts, including proposal and budget development and bid defense processes
  • Assist with the development and maintenance of SOPs, plans, and policies related to DCTs
  • Provide input to the technical team to expand capabilities to support customer needs

Essential Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., life sciences, pharmacy, or a related field)
  • Past experience in supporting or CRO experience developing and leading DCT projects, including budget and scope development
  • Knowledge of and experience managing DCT vendors
  • Deep understanding of the drug and device development process, including decentralized and hybrid trials
  • Strong working knowledge of ICH GCP, US CFR, and HIPAA regulations
  • Proficient with the skills and ability to apply new systems to routine tasks
  • Understand the importance of adaptability and willingness to learn and adapt to technology changes over time
  • Strong leadership skills with proven ability to lead internal and external teams
  • Ability to work independently and make strategic decisions to operationalize and move clinical trial operations forward
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, while maintaining attention to detail
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and resources, meet deadlines, and be flexible to changing needs
  • Excellent written and oral communication and presentation skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced degree in a related field (e.g., MS, PhD, or PharmD)
  • Experience working in a remote or virtual environment
  • Knowledge of clinical trial management systems (CTMS) and electronic data capture (EDC) systems
  • Experience with decentralized trial technologies, such as electronic patient-reported outcomes (ePRO) and wearables
  • Certification in clinical research or a related field (e.g., CCRA, CCRP, or ACRP)
