About the Role

As a Software Engineering intern at Delta Airlines, you'll be an integral part of our IT team, working on exciting projects that impact the way we operate and serve our customers. You'll be assigned to one of our various Programming Portfolio groups, including:

  • Programming Execution and Reliability Engineering
  • Omnichannel Technology (Reservations Technology, Customer Experience, Business, and Enterprise Agility and Digital Lodge)
  • Buying, Upgrading, AI/Automation
  • Global Sales, DLV, and Engineering Services
  • Airport Customer Support, Freight, and Package Operations, and Agile Instruction Office
  • Techops IT, DMS, and DFP
  • Corporate Innovation

You'll have the opportunity to work on complex projects, collaborate with experienced professionals, and develop innovative solutions that make a real impact on our business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the design, development, and testing of software applications and systems
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize project requirements
  • Participate in code reviews and contribute to the improvement of our codebase
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation and reports
  • Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and trends in software engineering

Essential Qualifications

To be considered for this role, you must:

  • Be an undergraduate student with a 2.5 GPA or higher and have completed at least 2 years in a college program
  • Have a degree focus in Software Engineering, Programming Development, Systems/Industrial/Electrical Engineering, Management Information Systems, Data Science, Data Analysis/Operations Research, Cybersecurity, Business Management, or a related field
  • Possess strong analytical, leadership, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Be able to accept diverse people, thinking, and consistently make safety and security a priority
  • Have a premium in tackling complicated issues and contribute investment to overcome detours
  • Have an awareness of cloud technology, Software Development Lifecycles, and/or computer hardware components and support
  • Be able to act in a mature manner and be comfortable working in a business-casual work environment
  • Be interested in working for Delta Airlines after graduation, if given the opportunity and a full-time offer
